Edmond Boyer

Senior researcher at INRIA working on 3D dynamic modeling from images and videos.

Edmond Boyer is a senior researcher at INRIA and a member of the laboratoire jean Kuntzmann (LJK). His research interests include 3D dynamic modelling from images and videos, motion perception and analysis from videos, and computational methods for medical diagnosis from imaging and motion data. From December 2022 to December 2025 he was on leave with Meta Reality Labs in Zurich.

Before that, he was at INRIA Grenoble Rhône-Alpes, where he created and led the Morpheo team on the capture and analysis of moving shapes using visual cues. From 1998 to 2010, he was associate professor of computer science at Université Joseph Fourier, now part of Université Grenoble Alpes. He is also co-founder of 4DViews, a company specialized in 4D acquisition. Edmond Boyer is an ELLIS Fellow, a member of the board of the European Computer Vision Association, and a member of the 3DV Conference Steering Committee.
